Description

The Hermitage is a 16th century timber-framed house located on East Street. The ground floor has been rebuilt in red brick with grey headers, while the upper framing has been restored. It features a half-hipped tiled roof. The ground floor has sash windows with intact glazing bars, while the first floor has modern casement windows. The doorway includes an 18th century door with six fielded panels, two of which have been cut away and glazed. A 19th century tiled hood in a pediment shape, supported on brackets, has been added above the doorway. The building has two storeys and four windows.
