Description

Hortondene and The Gallery are a pair of houses dating to circa 1830. The houses are constructed of yellow stock brick with a low-pitched hipped slate roof and stacks, including a central ridge stack. The symmetrical front has five windows, with glazing bar sash windows in surrounds with gauged heads. A small shop window is located to the left of the centre, while a larger shop window with a central doorway is at the right-hand end, both dating to the 20th century. The entrance to Hortondene is in the second bay from the left, featuring a segmental gauged brick arched head. A modern panelled door is present, with a radiating arch-light above. The buildings are included on the list solely for their group value.
