Description
Bank Cottages is a row of cottages that may date back to the 16th century. The ground floor is made of painted brick, while the upper part features fish-scale tile-hanging, except for No 4, which has plain tile-hanging. The cottages have a plain tiled roof. No 1 has been combined with the original No 2, which was formerly an inn and has a deep plinth with two basement windows. The buildings are two storeys high and have an irregular arrangement of 19th-century casement and glazing bar sash windows. The first floor has a window arrangement of 2+2+1+4, and the ground floor has 4+2+1+2. There are five entrances, with No 1 featuring a modern lean-to verandah surrounded by modern applied framing. The entrance to the former No 2 is now disused, and No 3 retains a flat hood.
