RAMSGATE ROYAL ESPLANADE (south side) Croquet Pavilion

GV II Sports pavilion (croquet or putting green). 1928-29. Basil C. Deacon of Franklin and Deacon of Luton. Rendered brick. Single storey arcaded pavilion, with eight Doric columns in antis, the doors to service rooms to rear. Projecting side blocks, the whole with frieze and cornice and topped with balustrade; cast iron flag pole on centre pier of balustrade. Simple doorways to return fronts, with flanking flights of stairs to simple cast iron gates. The pavilion set into road-embankment with access on to roof area from road. The doorways with iron sheeting doors at present, original window openings in projecting side pieces now blocked.
