Description
Barfield House is an early 19th-century building located on Albion Street in Broadstairs. It was formerly a lending library and is two storeys high, finished in stucco. The house features four windows on the south side and four on the east side, with a parapet topped by stone coping. Most of the original glazing bars are intact, although some windows on the south side have been modernised. The east front has two trelliswork iron balconies with tent-shaped canopies on the first floor, and a Tuscan porch is located under the balcony of No 30. The south front includes one sash window with 'Gothick' glazing and a small porch supported by thin Tuscan columns. Barfield House is part of a group that includes the Royal Albion Hotel and Nos 14 to 26 (even).
