Description

"White Cliffs" is a house located on St Augustine's Road, built in the early 19th century and altered in the early 20th century. It is constructed of stock brick and features a slate roof. The building has two storeys, a hipped roof, and a stack that is corbelled out of the front wall. The first floor has casement and sash windows, while the ground floor openings are blocked. To the right, there is a half-glazed door with a rendered shell hood and fluted bracketed pilasters.

To the left of the house are outbuildings, also two storeys high, which have casement windows and a stack on the front walls. These outbuildings extend to the left and are accompanied by a brick wall that is approximately 8 feet high, featuring a panelled door about 15 metres along with capped piers. The wall steps down at the left end and curves towards the gates, which include iron carriage and pedestrian gates along with capped piers. Although "White Cliffs" is now a separate property, it originally served as outbuildings for West Cliff Lodge, which still exists nearby. This listing is included for its group value.
