Description

Callis Court is a timber-framed house dating from the 15th to 16th centuries and subsequently restored. The first floor and part of the ground floor are constructed with close-studded panels. The first floor juts out over the ends of the floor joists, supported by a bressumer. The roof is tiled. Four diagonal braces are visible on the first floor. Modern casement windows are set into the ground floor, alongside two modern bays. A substantial Victorian addition extends from the main structure, including a conservatory at the west end. A well is located in the front garden near the main entrance, featuring a sculptured stone surround and cast iron scrollwork above.
