Description
This is a Wealden hall house dating to the 15th century. It is timber framed and has exposed framing with painted brick and plaster infill, covered by a plain tiled roof. The house has four framed bays, extending over two floors, with projecting jetties to the left and right, supported by dragon posts. The eaves are coved over the central recessed hall. The roof is hipped, incorporating gablets and stacks positioned to the rear left, centre, and the projecting end to the right. The windows are irregularly placed, with three wooden casements on the first floor and two on the ground floor. The original plank and stud door is set within a 4-centred arched and moulded surround, featuring an indecipherable inscription above. Inside, a floor was inserted over the hall in the 17th century. There is a carved beam, and the roof is a crown post design, braced to the collar from the base of the post.
