Description
This building is a house located at 248 The Street, dating from the 18th century. It has a timber frame and is clad with painted brick on the ground floor, while the first floor features wood block designed to look like masonry. The roof is plain tiled and has two parallel ranges, with the rear side weather boarded. The house is two storeys tall with an attic, sitting on a plinth that has a projecting modillion eaves cornice beneath a half hipped roof. It includes two flat dormers and a large central chimney stack. The windows are arranged regularly, featuring two glazing bar sashes with blind hoods on the first floor, and two canted bays on the ground floor. The entrance has a central half glazed door surrounded by a fluted pilaster, with the cornice of the bays extending over the door to create a deep and wide porch.
