Description
Tenterden House is a house that dates from the 15th to 17th centuries, with mid-19th century window features. It has a timber frame that is exposed, with colour-washed plaster infill, and a plain tiled roof. The building consists of four framed bays from two different building periods. It is two storeys high with an attic and features a continuous jetty. The three left-hand bays have decorative ogee bracing, while the right end bay has close studding. The roof is hipped and includes two hipped dormers, with stacks located to the centre left and projecting at the end left. On the first floor, there are four sash windows and one blocked mullioned window to the left, while the ground floor has three canted bay windows. The entrance features a ribbed and studded door located to the centre left, set within a four-centred arched surround with enriched spandrels. There is also late 20th century painted decorative work on the plaster of the first floor.
