Description
The Hole in the Wall Inn is a 16th-century timber-framed building located on Preston Street. It has been altered in the 18th century but still features the overhang of its first floor supported by a bressummer. The inn has 19th-century and later shop fronts, including an early 19th-century bay window at the south end. The upper part of the building is plastered, and it has a cornice and parapet. The roofs are tiled, and there are modern casement windows. The building is two storeys high and has four windows. The Hole in the Wall Inn is part of a group with Nos 73 to 78, which are consecutive.
