Description
This is a timber-framed building, largely refronted but retaining a jettied first floor on its south side. The building is two storeys and has an attic. It has two windows facing south and a single window facing east, with a gable and attic window. The south front is stuccoed on the ground floor and weather-boarded above. The east front is painted brick. The original glazing bars are intact. An early 19th-century shop window is located on the ground floor of the east side. A narrow, high addition was built at the west end in the early 19th century. The building, along with premises previously occupied by G Twyman and Son Limited, forms a group with numbers 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 Tanner Street.
