Description

Crown House is a 16th-century house located on Teynham Street in Teynham. It features a timber frame with close studding that is exposed, along with plaster infilling and some sections underbuilt with painted brick. The roof is plain tiled and the building stands two storeys high on a plinth, with an end jetty to the right supported by moulded dragon beams. The roof is hipped, with a chimney stack positioned towards the centre left. On the first floor, there are two wooden casement windows, while the ground floor has one wooden casement window and a glazed door set in a 20th-century red brick porch to the left. The rear elevation, facing Marsh Lane, has more regularly and closely set studding, featuring two wooden casements on each floor and one gabled dormer.
