Description

This is a 16th-century house, originally a timber-framed farmhouse. It has exposed close-studding with plaster infill and a plain tiled roof. The house has a rectangular plan with a large, later, projecting gabled wing to the right. The main block has two storeys and a continuous jetty supported by large, moulded dragon posts. The roof is hipped, with a gablet to the right, weatherboarding to the left, and a stack to the right. The projecting gabled wing to the right also has two storeys and a jettied first floor, featuring moulded dragon beams and a jettied gable with carved pendants. A catslide roof extends to the right. The left side of the main block has one metal casement window on the first floor and one wood casement window on the ground floor. The projecting wing has one large leaded casement window on each floor, with blocked side lights on the ground floor. A plank and stud door, with a four-centred arched surround and a glazed spandrel, is located on the left side of the building.
