Description
Riddles Cottage, also known as Riddles House, is an L-shaped building that has been divided into two houses. The oldest part is the south wing, which features timber framing with plaster infilling on the first floor of its west face. The rest of the building is weatherboarded and consists of a central section with two wings. Originally, the first floor oversailed at the protruding ends of the floor joists, but the ground floor of the north wing has been underbuilt. The west wing is likely from the 17th century and is two storeys high, also weatherboarded. It has a red brick chimney breast at its west end and a tiled roof covering the entire structure. There are three casement windows facing east and three facing north.
