Description
The Grange is an 18th-century house located on the south side of London Road in Lynsted. It features a rectangular plan with later wings added, which are recessed to the left and slightly projecting to the right. The house is built of painted brick and has a plain tiled roof. It stands two storeys high on a plinth, topped with a parapet and has stacks at both ends.
The central block has a regular arrangement of three glazing bar sash windows on the first floor, each with basket arched heads and moulded, panelled tympana. The windows on the left and right are set in recesses, which also contain the two ground floor windows that have moulded panels between the ground and first floor windows. To the right, there is a two-storey extension featuring one wood casement window on each floor, while the left side has a one-storey extension with one glazing bar sash window. The central entrance door is composed of four panels and is topped by a rectangular fanlight, all within a Doric columned porch.
