Description
The Malthouse is a house dating from the late 16th century. It has a timber frame that is exposed, with close-studding on the ground floor, ornamental ogee bracing, and a mid rail on the first floor, which features plaster infill. The roof is plain tiled. The building is two storeys high and has a continuous jetty on dragon beams that returns to the right. There is a central projecting two-storey gable that is jettied at both the first floor and the gable. The roof is hipped to the right and gabled to the left, with a central stack. On the first floor, there are two four-light wood mullioned windows and a two-light mullion window in the central gable. The ground floor has two renewed oriel windows with side-lights. The entrance features a central plank and stud door set in a four-centred arched and moulded surround, also with sidelights.
