Description

Nos 8 and 9 Abbey Street are a pair of small 18th century houses, standing two storeys high with an attic. They feature four windows and two hipped dormers. The houses are constructed of painted brick and have a brick stringcourse and a wooden eaves cornice. The tiled roof retains its glazing bars, except for a small 19th century shop window in No 8, which is no longer in use. There are two doorways, each framed by moulded architrave surrounds with projecting cornices above, and the doors consist of six moulded panels. Nos 3 to 12 Abbey Street form a group with these houses.
