Description
This house, located immediately to the west-northwest of the Drill Hall, is possibly linked to the former assembly rooms and dates from around the mid-19th century, likely 1849, which is when the assembly rooms were built. The building is stuccoed with weatherboarding at the rear and features a low-pitched slate hipped roof. It has a two-room layout with a central entrance, and the staircase is likely located in the central projection at the back.
The exterior is two stories high and has a symmetrical three-window front. The windows are 16-pane sashes from the 19th century, with the central first-floor window having 12 panes. The central doorway features a panelled door and a moulded architrave with a segmental arch above the overlight. At the rear, the central section is slightly advanced and includes a 12-pane sash window on the first floor. The interior has not been inspected.
