Description

The Faversham War Memorial is a granite Celtic cross with a tapering shaft, set on a tall tapering base. The cross is positioned on a square plinth that rests on a two-stepped base, with a flower holder placed in front. The face of the cross features relief decoration and floral bosses. The memorial is surrounded by later metal railings on a stone kerb, which are situated between granite piers.

The inscription on the base and flower holder reads:

IN / MEMORY OF OUR / GLORIOUS DEAD / 1914-1918 / 1939-1945 / GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN / THAN THIS THAT A MAN LAY DOWN / HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS / LEST WE FORGET.
