Description
Claxfield House is a building that dates from the 17th century and was refaced in the 18th century. It is timber framed and plastered, topped with a plain tiled roof. The house has two storeys and a garret, standing on a plinth with rusticated quoins and a modillion eaves cornice beneath a half hipped roof. There are stacks located at the rear left and rear centre. The windows are arranged asymmetrically on the right side, featuring three glazing bar sashes on the first floor and two on the ground floor, all with moulded architraves. Additionally, there is an extra glazing bar sash window to the left. The entrance door, located to the centre right, has six panels and is set in a panelled recess flanked by pilasters and topped with a pediment. The building is currently used as offices.
