Description
Heart's Delight House is a house that dates from the 16th century, with later cladding from the 17th and 19th centuries. It features a timber frame that is clad with red brick and tile hung, topped by a plain tile roof. The house has two storeys and a hipped roof, with stacks that project at the left end, as well as at the centre left and rear right. There is a separately hipped extension to the right. The windows are arranged irregularly, with four wooden casements on each floor, and there is a boarded door located to the centre left. The right side of the house showcases exposed close-studded framing.
In front of the house, a 16th-century red brick wall encloses a courtyard. This wall is 6 feet high, extends 10 yards from the front of the house, and runs a length of 10 yards before returning. The west wall features a plank and stud door set in a brick arch with a flat head, along with a discontinuous cornice and coping.
