Description

This is a gate to the churchyard, dating from the 19th century, likely designed by R.C. Hussey around 1841 to 1846. It is made of cast iron set on a stone base. The gate piers are approximately 3 feet high, constructed from ashlar with flint panels and topped with capping. Above the gate is a cast iron trellised arched overthrow featuring scrolled infill. At the top, there is a glass hexagonal lamp case with an elaborate three-tiered foliated cover and a daffodil-shaped finial. The gate itself has two tiers of spear-headed railings.
