Description

Forge Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with cladding added in the 18th century. It features a timber frame covered with painted brick and has a plain tiled roof. The building has an L-shaped plan and stands one storey high with an attic, resting on a high moulded plinth supported by four raking brick buttresses. The hipped roof has a heavy exposed and distorted wall plate. There is a central stack and three hipped dormers. The front includes three segmental headed wooden casements and a rib and stud door to the left. Additionally, there is a four-panel door in a segmental headed surround facing the road. The rear wing displays some exposed framing.
