Description
Luton Cottage is a house dating from the 15th century, with cladding from the 18th century. It features a timber frame with exposed close-studding and plaster infill on the right wing, while the rest is clad in red brick. The roof is plain tiled and the building is designed as a hall house with a jettied cross-wing. It stands two storeys high with a hipped roof that includes gablets, and has a projecting hipped wing to the right supported by dragon posts. There is a central stack and a hipped semi-dormer to the left. The windows are irregularly arranged, consisting of three wooden casement windows, with one located in the outshot at the right end. The doors are boarded, with a hipped hood over the central door and another at the right end. There is also a weatherboarded outshot on the left.
