Description

Riverhill House is a large mansion with elements from several periods. The original structure dates back to the early 19th century and consists of two storeys with five windows. It features coursed rubble masonry with flint galletting. An extra storey made of random rubble and a three-storey porch projection were added around 1830. Shortly after, a slightly projecting two-storey extension was added to the left, constructed in yellow brick. The roofs are fairly low pitched and hipped, covered with Welsh slate. The windows are sash style, with most of the bars removed. There is a large, late 19th-century projecting extension on the right and another similar extension at the left rear, both of which do not enhance the character of the house and are in poor condition. The south front has balustraded terraces.
