Description
The South Central entrance tower to Penshurst Place is a battlemented square sandstone structure dating from around 1400. It features a blocked square window from the 17th century or early 18th century on the first floor, with slit windows flanking a round arched doorway from the 17th century. To the east, there is a stretch of stone-battlemented brick wall. This tower and wall, along with the Southern Wall, the Inner Garden Wall, and the Garden Wall, form a significant group within the historic context of Penshurst Place.
