Description

Walter’s Green Farmhouse is a late 15th-century Wealden house with a Victorian front range added later. The rear elevation demonstrates a high-pitched hipped gabled tiled roof with a rebuilt ridge stack, and a chimney within the building from the 16th century. There are two small gabled dormers at each end. The first floor is tile-hung, displaying visible timber posts at the corners. The ground floor is constructed of red brick, dating from the 19th century. Windows are casements, with a mix of 19th-century wooden or iron frames and modern replacements. A plank door provides access. A projecting service wing is located to the left of the main building. Some freestone masonry is visible near the ground level.

Inside, there's a passage with double roll moulded and chamfered beams. An inglenook fireplace is present, along with a cellar built of heavy freestone masonry. The roof features a crownpost construction with heavy, close-set rafters.
