Description

Elizabethan Cottage is a building located on Swanley Village Road, dating back to 1604, with repairs and partial rebuilding completed in 1713, and restoration and decoration carried out in 1880. The exterior, which dates from 1880, conceals a timber-framed structure. The building is two storeys high, with the ground floor finished in painted brick featuring decorative ties, while the first floor is adorned with curved tiles. The roof is tiled, half-hipped at one end and hipped at the other, and includes a central chimneystack, with a catslide at the rear. The ground floor features two sliding sash windows and a penticed doorcase. Inside, the cottage has exposed beams and an inglenook fireplace.
