Description

Walnut Tree Cottage is a Grade II* listed building located in Kemsing, dating back to the medieval period. The southern part of the cottage features a medieval hall beneath a large hipped gabled tiled roof, with an old brick chimney rising through it. This section is one storey high and has two dormers resting on the wall plate. The structure is timber framed, with the left side encased in coursed rubble masonry with brick dressings, while the right side is finished in 19th-century brickwork. The northern part, likely from the 16th century, is positioned at right angles and consists of two storeys with three windows. It has a high-pitched hipped tiled roof with a central stack and features casement windows, along with another chimney at the end.
