Description

Old Gilwyns is a small, timber-framed house that dates back to the 16th century or earlier. It has two storeys and features three irregularly placed windows. The house is topped with a high-pitched tiled roof that has large hips. The exterior is tile-hung, with a visible timber ground cill and a rendered plinth. The windows are modern casements with leaded diamond panes. There is a modern gabled porch with a half-glazed door, and there are modern extensions to the left that are in keeping with the original design. Inside, much of the heavy timber structure is exposed. Old Gilwyns and Gilwyns are part of a group of buildings.
