Description

Dibden Farmhouse is a 16th-century farmhouse with 18th-century additions located on Dibden Lane. The building features a two-storey porch that is half-timbered with brick infilling and has a gable end with a tiled roof. At the rear, there is a long ridge tile roof over a two-storey wing, which has a half-timbered ground floor and is tile hung above. The farmhouse has an old central chimney. The early 18th-century addition is a square brick structure on the side, also two storeys high, with a stone plinth and brick quoins. It has a continuous brick band that is broken and raised over the windows. There are two pairs of square paned windows symmetrically placed on both floors, set under segmental arches on the ground floor. The south elevation features two recessed plastered panels. The projecting eaves are adorned with widely spaced modillions, and the roof is pyramidal with tiles and a short ridge at the top, along with gablets at the ends. The building is likely to have served as a hall.
