Description

This is a 16th century timber-framed house of an L-shape, situated in Somerden Green. It features a bay to the right and a cross wing to the left. The roofs are steeply pitched and tiled, with the cross wing's roof being hipped. The first floor is now tile hung, and the ground floor exhibits exposed timber framing with brick and plaster infill. A foundation of coursed freestone is visible. 18th and 19th century casement windows are present. The interior reveals extensive exposed timberwork, including a moulded beam and a doorway with a hollow-chamfered, three-centred arch at the junction. The roof is a side purlin design.
