Description
Sundridge Place is an early 18th century building located on part of the site of a 17th century and earlier mansion. It incorporates a large chimney stack from the older house. The structure has two storeys and an attic, built from galleted rubble masonry. It features a high-pitched hipped tiled roof with two flat-headed dormers. There is one window on the first floor and two on the ground floor, with the left one being a modern but suitably designed canted bay. A wing was added to the other side of the house in the late 19th century, creating an L-shape with a door in the angle. The windows are either 18th century or replaced sashes with glazing bars. Inside, one small room retains complete early 18th century panelling, while another room features a Tudor stone fireplace. This building was formerly the home of the Hyde family. Sundridge Place, along with the Large Barn and Outbuildings, forms a group.
