Description
Ulcombe Hill Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century to the 18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. The building is timber framed, with the south elevation on the ground floor clad in a chequered pattern of red and grey brick. The left gable end features a stone ground floor, while the first floor is hung with fishscale tiles. The farmhouse has a plain tile roof and stands two storeys high with a cellar on a stone plinth. It has a hipped roof and slightly projecting brick end stacks. The south elevation has irregular fenestration, consisting of four 9-pane glazing bar-sashes, and a panelled door located towards the centre, sheltered by a trellised porch. To the left, there is a short timber-framed wing that is separately framed but likely of similar age, featuring a brick ridge stack. Inside, the farmhouse has exposed beams and a clasped purlin roof in the wing, with diminishing principal rafters. The wing also includes an inglenook fireplace built in Flemish bond. The building is marked as Hill Farm on the Ordnance Survey map.
