Description

White Cottage is a house that dates back to the 16th century or earlier, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It features a timber frame and is weatherboarded, topped with a plain tile roof. The right gable end displays exposed principal posts and tension braces on both floors. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a gable end jetty on the right side. It has a steeply-pitched hipped roof with gablets, and there are projecting brick stacks at the gable end and a multiple brick ridge stack towards the left end. A small hipped dormer contains a two-light casement window. The windows are arranged irregularly, consisting of three three-light casements and one two-light casement located under the stack. There is a ribbed door set in a gabled weatherboarded porch towards the right end, and a rear lean-to is also present. The interior has not been inspected.
