Description

The east half of the stock yard at East Sutton Park dates from the mid-19th century and is likely the work of C.J. Richardson. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and sits on a stone plinth, topped with plain tile roofs. This section comprises the east side, half of the north side, and half of the south side of a rectangular courtyard.

There is a gateway approximately 4 metres wide, featuring plain rectangular piers at the center of the north side, which are linked by a wall to a single-storey barn on the east. The barn has brick-coped gables, no windows on the north side, and 20th-century doors and windows at the east end. The brick-coped wall extends to the east, ending in a rectangular gate pier.

A link building extends south from the barn, across the east end of the yard. This single-storey structure has various windows and two sets of double doors, and it adjoins the barn at the center of the east side of the yard. The building reaches two-storey height with brick-coped gables. It features a central midstrey with double doors to the east and a full-height, four-centred arched gateway with a gable above to the west, which aligns with the central gatehouse on the west side of the yard.

In the south-east corner of the yard, there is a shelter adjoining the barn, characterized by a curved wall that returns to the west. The roof of this shelter is curved to the east and gabled to the west. No further 19th-century buildings remain on the south side of the yard. The interiors have not been inspected.
