Description

This is a 17th-century farmhouse, with later additions from the late 18th century and a mid-19th-century facade. The house is timber-framed and has a plain tile roof. The ground floor is clad in red brick laid in a Flemish bond pattern, while the first floor is covered with banded plain and fishscale tiles. It stands on a stone plinth and has a half-hipped roof with a ridge stack towards the left end and a slender projecting stack to the right end. The windows are arranged irregularly, consisting of three three-light casements. A panelled door is set six steps up beneath the left-hand stack. A boarded door is located at the left gable end, accessed by twelve stone steps, as the land slopes away. A short, two-storey red brick rear wing is attached to the left, likely dating from the late 18th century. A further short, two-storey rear wing is on the right, with a red brick ground floor and tile-hanging above. The interior, only partly inspected, reveals exposed beams.
