Description
Hunter's Almshouses, dated 1757, originally consisted of six almshouses but now contains four. The building is two storeys high and constructed of red brick, topped with a hipped tiled roof that features an eaves cornice. It has six casement windows. The doorcases have cambered head linings and flat hoods, with the original four central houses sharing joint hoods. Two of the doorcases have been extended, and windows have been added on the ground floor, resulting in double flat hoods above. There are steps leading to the street, accompanied by iron railings. Hunter's Almshouses is part of a group that includes Nos 52, 56, 58, 62, and 64 to 70 (even).
