Description
Hatchetts and Styles Cottage is a pair of houses dating from the late 16th century, with a 20th-century addition on the left. The buildings are timber framed, featuring a chequered pattern of red and grey brick on the ground floor and tile hanging on the first floor, topped with a plain tile roof. They stand two storeys high with attics, set on a plinth with a continuous jetty. There is one stack off-centre to the right and another off-centre to the left on the rear slope of the roof. The cottage has three hipped dormers and three two-light casement windows on the first floor. The 20th-century section has no windows on its front elevation. Access to Styles Cottage is through a half-glazed door located off-centre to the left in the front elevation of the original building, which is reached by two steps. There is a door to Hatchetts at the rear, located at the left end.
