Description

Two cottages, now combined into a single house, dating from the mid-to-late 19th century on the left and the late 17th century with mid-19th century alterations on the right. The right-hand section has a timber frame, with a ground floor of chequered red and grey brick and a first floor clad in fishscale tiles. The left-hand section is built of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern. Both sections have plain tile roofs. The building stands on a plinth, and the roof of the left section has a lower ridge. There are brick stacks at the left end of the left section and at the rear of the right section. Three gabled eaves dormers of varying sizes are visible. The ground floor has irregular window openings: three glazing-bar windows with segmental heads to the left section (the central one being a former door), and one three-light casement window to the right section. A ribbed door is located towards the left end of the right section, featuring reeded pilasters that begin halfway up the door on the brick jambs. A rear lean-to addition is present. The building is listed for group value, and the interior has not been inspected.
