Description
The Place is a house pair, or house-and-shop pair, now functioning as a restaurant. The left section dates from the 17th century and has undergone later alterations, while the right section is from the 18th century or early 19th century. The building is timber framed, with the ground floor covered in channelled render and the first floor weatherboarded. It features a plain tile roof.
The left section has two storeys and a continuous jetty, with a gabled roof. It includes a rear brick stack to the left and a multiple red and grey brick ridge stack to the right. The fenestration is irregular, consisting of two three-light casements, and there is a half-glazed door located under the right stack. The right section is taller with two storeys and also has a gabled roof but no visible stack. It has a regular two-window front with 12-pane sashes and a central half-glazed door. The interior has not been inspected. The building was formerly made up of separate properties.
