Description
This is a hand pump located about 10 metres west of Allens, built in 1899 by J. Warner & Sons from London. The free-standing pump has a painted iron casing that stands approximately 2 metres high, with each side divided horizontally into two fielded panels. It features a moulded cornice topped by a scrolled iron finial. On the north side, there is a plain bowed handle, and a spout hole is located on the west side. Inside the casing, there is a small rectangular lead cistern with raised decoration and a spout. The south side of the pump has a shield inscribed with "Erected by the Parish Council 1899." This pump was formerly associated with the Workhouse Cottages, which were demolished in the mid-to-late 20th century.
