Description

This listing describes a headstone, body stone, and footstone for Martha Knight, located approximately 18 yards south of the west tower of the Church of St. John the Baptist. The stones date from the mid-18th century. The top of the headstone is intricately carved with leaves, scrolls, and two cherub's heads. It commemorates Martha Knight, who died in 1761. The footstone is inscribed with "MK 1761," along with the year 1810 superimposed on it.
