Description
The stocks, located about half a meter south of the south aisle of the Church of St. Michael and All Angels, date from the 19th century. They are made of painted wood and consist of two posts, with the right post being taller. Each post features a long vertical slit designed to hold the ends of horizontal boards, allowing for their vertical movement. The boards are padlocked together at the right end, providing space for two victims. The stocks are painted with the inscription: "The Old Parish Stocks. Presented by E. Hussey Esq., Lord of the Manor. 1882."
