Description

The stocks located in the yard of the Church of St Mary the Virgin date from the 18th century or earlier. They feature stone slotted sides and a stone bottom rail with four notches. Originally, these stocks were situated at Honley Gate. There is a reference and sketch of them in "The History of Honley" by Mrs M A Jagger, published in 1914.
