Description

Woodfalls is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century, with an early 19th-century addition. The left section is constructed of red and grey brick in Flemish bond and features a slate roof, while the right section is made of red brick in Flemish bond with a plain tile roof. The right section includes rear return wings on both sides. The left section is designed as a cross-wing parallel to the rear left return wing, with its front gable end flush with the front elevation of the right section.

The building is two storeys tall, with the left section having slightly higher eaves than the right, and both sections displaying a dentilled brick eaves cornice. The roof of the left section is hipped to the front, while the right section has hips on both sides that return to the building. There are two slender projecting brick stacks on the left side of the left section and a corniced rear stack towards the centre of the right section.

The fenestration is irregular, featuring four recessed sixteen-pane sash windows, one located under the eaves cornice at the centre of the front gable end of the left section, and a regular three-window front on the right section, all with splayed rubbed brick voussoirs. The ground floor also has similar sashes, with all windows showcasing splayed rubbed brick voussoirs. There are half-glazed double doors with narrow margin lights set in a panelled recess at the left end of the right section, topped by a semi-circular fanlight with radiating glazing bars. A broad Doric porch enhances the entrance.

At the rear, there is a two-storey brick wing with a hipped slate roof, positioned at right angles to the rear gable end of the left section and projecting slightly to the left, complete with a corniced stack. The interior has not been inspected.
