Description
These outbuildings, originally stables, are located about 33 metres north of Redhill School. They date from the 17th century and have undergone alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries. The structure is made of red brick in Flemish bond and features a plain tile roof. It stands at one and a half storeys on a moulded brick plinth, with brick-coped gable ends that include tumbled brickwork, kneelers, and cut brick finials.
The west side has three brick gables from the 19th or early 20th century, constructed in English bond and also featuring cut brick finials. The left gable has a blocked window, while the right and centre gables each have a 2-light mullioned window. The first floor displays irregular fenestration with two 2-light casements. On the ground floor, there are three chamfered slit windows to the left of the porch, one to the right, and two 2-light mullioned windows. The central entrance, dating from the 19th century, has a 3-centred arch with rubbed brick voussoirs above a broad boarded door. The right side of the front elevation is obscured. The interior has not been inspected.
