GV II Dated 1789. Two storeys, red brick. Hipped tiled roof with leaded ridges. Modillion eaves cornice and stringoourse. Four casement windows. Doorcases with flat hoods over, Nos 78 and 80 having a joint one. Inscription on a tablet records that 'These almshouses were built A.D. 1789 by John Brenchley Esq in his life time for the reception and support of decay'd housekeepers of this town and endowed with a donation of £12 per annum to each for ever'.

Nos 70 to 86 (even) form a group.
