Description
An early to mid-19th century terrace comprising numbers 1 to 5 Edwin Street. The buildings are three storeys high with a basement, originally constructed from stock brick, although numbers 1 and 5 have been pebbledashed. Numbers 1 and 5 project slightly forward. A parapet tops the building, featuring an eaves cornice. Each property has two sash windows per floor, with most of the original glazing bars remaining. A stringcourse runs between the ground and first floors. Cast iron flower guards are present on the first-floor windows. The ground floors feature round-headed recessed windows and round-headed doorcases with semi-circular fanlights above six-panelled doors. Numbers 3 and 4 now have modern doors. Steps lead from the street to the entrances, accompanied by cast iron railings and area railings. Number 1 has a carriage entrance on its left side, distinguished by a cornice and pilasters. Numbers 1 to 17 form a group, while numbers 6 to 17 are considered buildings of local interest.
